Does the sun enter into a new zodiac sign at 30 degrees?

I am confused since many pseudo biblical "zeitgeist" scholars say that the sun is christ and he enters into a new zodiac sign at 30 degree angle. My measurements however do not show this. 30 degree angle from what? Am I missing something?
