Where can I find information for my history report?

I'm studying the life of Dorothea Dix and I am having trouble finding good online resources. I found one really good website but that was about all and it gave a great overview, (a href="http://www.webster.edu/~woolflm/dorotheadix.html)" rel="nofollow"http://www.webster.edu/~woolflm/dorothea…/a but it says "As noted above, each paper included on this Web site was written by a student enrolled in an undergraduate seminar. These papers are provided to highlight the lives of women and the significant contributions these women have made or continue to make to the behavioral and social sciences. However, they should not be used as primary reference material for any academic work (e.g., cl paper). It is recommended that the primary source material listed at the end of each paper be read and used for any academic endeavor." but I can't get a hold of any of the books referenced and they are all extremely long so I don't know if I can cite this information. Can anyone else help me find good info? Thanks
