Is it OK if you use environmentally friendly compact fluorescents?

Those lights are weird, although I've found situational use for them. I like to play video games, but I hate dark rooms (it contributes to depression for me). Those lights provide decent ambience without causing glare. They also save some $, but to light your house or for reading I recommend the old fashioned bulbs.
