Yes. Look at the conversion of Paul (Saul of Tarsus). When he was saved, God took him out of the picture for a period of 3 years. We know almost nothing of this time, but we know a lot about what happened when the "fullness of time" had ped and God began to use him. Also, look at Moses. Whoa! 40 years in a desert tending sheep. Talk about your basic Spiritual Education 101! But when God was ready, Moses became a "friend to God." Wow! I want that.
