My 2 year old Dal cries when she has a bone/chew she wants to bury in the house.,,,?

I asked the breeder if the mom or dad had this behavior. She said no, it must be new to this particular pup. I read somewhere she might do this because she is excited. She sounds like someone is hurting her. She continues to whine and cry until she finds the perfect spot to bury it. Any suggestions as to how we can help her get over this? My heart breaks when I hear her even though I have been told she is just excited.
