What is more important to top colleges- volunteer hours or work experience?

Well - it won't matter to any college what you do with your time - either work or volunteer at a hospital - they're only interested in finding out if you can handle the work load. Unless you're going for a a Basketball Grant - they won't think much of you spending that much time improving your body.

we bought out dog from the pound and she is wonderful to our children she is cage trained and well mannered,,,,until she sees a cat!!!!! she will go crazy when she sees them..she acctually got ahold of a cat once and shook it like a rag doll..the cat did get away...how can i get her to play nice???

I need to list some common rocks of Hawaii and want some help to determine if my answers are okay. Ive got sandstone and limestone from the erosion of coral reefs, basalt from the volcanoes. Obsidian,Gabbro and Olivine. I know Olivine is one because of a green beach, and Obsidian because it is used to make Pele tears- a decoration made from obsidian. Any help would be appreciated.

I need advice on how to tell my friend I have fallen for her?

I have been struggling with this for months now & I have finally decided to tell my friend how I feel. I don't know what she is going to say but I have the feeling she already knows. Here's a little of whats been going on so you tell me does she feel the same? My Best friend is the most amazing woman I have ever met & yes she is a . Ive never had feeling so strong for a woman, I have always been straight so this is new to me. No I am not bi curious & I don't think about other women ever... just her. We definitely have a connection between us. This past weekend we were out & a mutual friend asked us whats going on with you two? We didn't answer... did he notice it? She is always in my personal space & I do not mind at all. She puts her arms around me , compliments me, teases me & has made suggestive comments in a way that she sounds like shes kidding but I can feel the energy. When I look at her or we have pictures taken together we are always close & is it true about pupil dilation? I have been reading everything that I can to see if I can find out if she feels the same. I know the easiest way would be to ask but it's not that easy. She is my best friend & if I ever lost her I would be miserable. We had to sleep in the same bed this weekend (no nothing happened) But both of us were awake all night, I think we just pretended to sleep. We were close together & neither of us flinched. We had a picture taken & for some reason she decided to put her leg around my neck, I was grabbed by another woman which I didn't like & she knew I was uncomfortable and asked me would it be different if it were me who did it? seriously I feel like she has the same feelings for me but we are both to chicken **** to say it. I sent her a text yesterday that said I needed to talk to her about something so she knows I have something to say, I think it should be in person tho. Please only serious responses I need to know how to address this. I am scared I am almost 40 & this is the last thing I expected but when you know you love someone there is such a strong feeling in your heart it is gut wrenching. I have cried my eyes out wondering what to do. Please someone tell me they have been through this & how I can get through it without feeling like I am getting my heart ripped out.... :(

Briggs & Stratton year: 1999 model: Quantum 6 hp. Wont start?

I have a push mower with the above engine. A couple of years ago it quit working and as I had another mower available I didn't bother to fix it. Now I have a John Deere 6.75 hp B&S that works like a top. Anyway, recently decided to try to fix my old mower. I got it working for a while, but then it wouldn't start. Now I have found that the reason it won't start is that it doesn't get any gas. Every time I press the primer on all that I hear is air, not the sound of gas getting pumped. There is nothing that keeps gas from getting from the tank to the engine. I have put a new fuel line on, so there isn't any problems with that. The air filter is the original so that is a possibility. There is a paper piece that goes between the piece that holds the air filter and the carburetor that since it is gone could also be a problem. Also the problem could be the carburetor it's self. I have used a engine start fluid bottle and have poured gas in the engine and started it, but obviously it only runs for a few seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is NOT your fault. But you definitely need to talk to someone about this. Something like this will stay with you forever and you need to talk to a professional to find a way to cope. I'm so sorry that this happened to you and you don't have to blame yourself for this. You were young and truly believed that they would kill you and your family if you told anyone. Please talk to someone, even a parent or a friend you trust. Tell them about how you feel guilty and let it all out. It won't change the past bottling up all those emotions aren't good for you.

My 2 year old Dal cries when she has a bone/chew she wants to bury in the house.,,,?

I asked the breeder if the mom or dad had this behavior. She said no, it must be new to this particular pup. I read somewhere she might do this because she is excited. She sounds like someone is hurting her. She continues to whine and cry until she finds the perfect spot to bury it. Any suggestions as to how we can help her get over this? My heart breaks when I hear her even though I have been told she is just excited.

How can I keep myself from crushing on guys that are above me in status..like I'm the quiet nerdy girl that crushes on cute frat boys then is dejected when they obviously mingle with hot sorority girls. I guess it's because I haven't had a bf or that special guy friend in a while so I try to fill that void. I also act and say stupid things around cute guys because I get really self-conscious! And how can you keep a crush from consuming your concentration? I'm kind of glad I don't go out a lot because then I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my school work if I was mingling and meeting guys all the time. Any advice?!
